A Comparative Study of Preventive Maintenance Thresholds for Deteriorating Systems

Degradation of engineering systems is a phenomenon that affects the reliability and lifetime systems. Maintenance deteriorating has been widely studied over past 50 years. Numerous maintenance models have proposed in literature to manage degradation. In this paper, we focus on condition-based strategy for those suffering continuous deterioration process. We propose use non-constant threshold determine when preventive action required. The main goal analyse effect long-term cost rate. demonstrate numerically convergence long run rate some statistical properties model. compare constant with through two different simulated case studies. simulations provide results reveals interesting advantages drawbacks using threshold.
